They have whole frozen smelt at the store on sale. Would this be a good treat for my tegu? They are whole and I wondered if with the guts and bones if they would be healthy for her.

I would not advise feeding with the bones..I would filet it and give just the meat..How large is your Tegu?

She is 2ft 8in long She is a B&W Arg. How do the fish bones compare to whole mice, or chicks?The smelt are only about 4in long and as big around as a thumb.

I don't feed my Tegus baby chicks or Rodents..I do that because if I sell them, I don't want the new owner to HAVE to feed as such. If the smelt are that small, it should be ok..We have smet that are 10 inches long, and that I don't trust.The bones of a fish are very small and sharp.
