Do you believe there is any truth to fruit helping with shedding problems?

 I think it is more of a humidity problem, but keep reading that lack of fruit will cause toe rings on red tegus.  Seems B/W's don't have this problem. Why?

 This could be misleading and owners giving lots of fruit when they should be soaking?

I don't know and thought I would throw this question out.
