I got Frost Friday of last week and here it is Thurs anmd he still has not chosen to eat anything - I am really starting to get worried. He seems happy and has been outside and bathed and is a very important part of our life however I am concerned that something may be wrong. He doesn't act sick or anything just doesn't eat. His previous owner was only feeding him twice a week. I have offered him every type of food imaginable and he has only attempted to nibble at a bit of greens on Saturday. I was told that he was not eating live mice because he rather just play with them. I have made him the tegu mix meatloaf that was suggested but he wont touch it eithe5r (my dog liked it though) Anyways should I be concerned or is it possible that he is just wanted to hibernate and therefore has chosen to stop eating??? He never got out of bed yesterday but did peek at us a few times. Please help Thanks !

my tegus have stopped eating and are hibernating now. so frost could be slowing down to hibernate . and will stop feeding.

Our tegus have started to eat a whole lot less as well.  Some cages dont even touch the ground beef anymore.  Some cages have already gone in hibernation, closing up their holes from the inside out.

The majority are active on the farm too really.  There is one nest that I have seen this week that has been closed from the inside out already.  They are red tegus in that cage.  It has been cool weather here, lots of overcast skies and some light rain.
